LaidOffCentral.Com was officially launched in June of 2001, but had been under development since early April of 2001. The site was originally being built to serve as a support forum for other laid off people and to allow those employees to find other former co-workers. The idea for the site came after the two founders and over 2 dozen of their friends from various companies were all laid off within a one-month period.

LaidOffCentral.Com wants to be THE resource for laid off employees. Our mission is to provide the laid off employee with the tools, network, and resources to get back in the working world and keep in touch with fellow professionals.
